Below is the prototype of the motorhome trailer  combo

When I was 16 years old GM (General Motors came to my dad to tell  ask him if he should figure out another way to tow cars because the "big three" were going to change the way cars would be made.  Before cars had metal bumpers but the new cars will have plastic ones and  the new plastic bumper will get damaged  from towing it with a conventional sling. (see below Black and white pic)  So my dad came  to me and in aout 4 secodns I figured it out.  Already had the design in my head and knew how to build it from wood.  Within two days we has a prototype.  The company, my dad was working for at the time, was Vulcan Equipment and their office then was at 95 Research road in Toronto.  I know because I was there part time.  My dad has already designed a small sling type towing Device called

towtricpickup

THE LIFT AND TOW (above) .  TO MOUNT ON THE BACK OF A PICK UP TRUCK. On the trailer hitch.

Later I created this with my Dad. It was caled the "Cradle Snatcher."

It was the   best tow truck in the industry  even selling in Japan.  I did not come up with the name for it.

The guys in marketing did.  Click on it and see how it progressed and the other designs of my father.

When I was around 27  years old, I came up with this one.

Originally licenced from a French company, my father + I improved the way it works.

My dad designed a new hook for it which has not changed  for over 33 years.

I am not an engineer, just an idea man.

My dad always did the calculations and design drawings all by hand.

I regret ever having created that thing with my dad.  I came up with the ideas, my dad designed it and we fabricated  it.

Here you can see the history of it and the other things my dad designed as well.
