When on the boat from Paris to Brazil. my dad became friends with the captain and they showed him how they worked the ship and now they figured out were they were before there was GPS. people navigated by the stars like the Vikings did so many years ago.

Will in Belgium, after the war, he was only allowed to work on a farm or do domestic work, he was really lucky to land a job as a chauffeur for a very Rich Family who had a beer factory. It was his job to drive the old women around. They has a Rolls Royce and some other cars. My dad had lots of fun there but knew he wanted to work in Engineering for which he was trained so one day he wanted to get into France but was unable too because the forged passport he had to get into Belgium was no longer valid.
So he paid a guy to take him across the boarder and then he was in France.

My dad and cousin Steve now s shrink who lives with his common law bride in Vancouver.
Basically when ,y dad came to Canada he and my mom had to save up 1000 dollars each before they were allowed to come to Canada. By today's standard that would be about a million each. They scratched and they saved and my dad has a small mechanics shop and they drove a jag. Which was very cool but needed lots of engine work. Mom was a home maker. After they came to Canada, they had me.
